August 1, 2019 – Brunswick, ME – Verdigrid, a Managed IT Service Provider has been Verdigrid, LLC since its founding in 2008. In 2017, in response to customers’ increasing interests in VoIP solutions, Verdigrid established the Cove Central Communications brand around a suite of PBX, SMS and SIP trunk products and services.

“The VoIP business has taken off and in just a couple of years we’ve built an infrastructure and staff to support customers with 5 to 1,500 users throughout New England,” according to Jim Whittaker, Head of Cove Central. He continues, “The IT services is still our bread and butter and a big source of revenue, but the VoIP is continuing a steady growth allowing us to be able to work with new businesses and organizations we’ve never worked with before.”

When asked why the name change? Whittaker adds, “No one can ever spell Verdigrid. It’s always been a tough name that I have to repeat all the time. Cove Central Communications blends IT services and VoIP. It’s easy to remember, so we’ve decided to make it easy for customers to find us.”

Along with the name change we are announcing our new expanded corporate headquarters. “We’ve outgrown our current Brunswick Maine office and a new office down the hall became available, so we took the opportunity to expand into the new multi-floor office suite.” Construction is still under way to modernize the space and we expect to complete the move over the next couple of weeks.
